Sorry I don't have the time to do the research on this one, but I'm working with a rental Ion this week. The rental house says the console only has one monitor. Period.
The desk has a VGA port and a Dual DVI port.
There should be no reason why I can't configure a second monitor once I track down a Dual DVI adaptor cable, right?
Do they both need to be via the Dual DVI port or can I keep the one in the VGA port?
In the shell, I tried to configure Monitor B without it existing, but it was reverted back to disabled. That's normal, right?
there should be a DVI Y-cable with the console that splits the dual DVI into two single DVIs. plus the VGA you get 3 ports. out of those three physical ports you can use two
That was my expectation, but the shop couldn't get the second monitor to work, so they didn't send it. I don't think they tried enabling the monitor in the shell.
Here's hoping they deliver in the morning & it all works out.
i think there was talk that not all dual dvi y-cables would work. but of course if they had the right one but didn't enable it would also explain it
For when you get back around to the research, here's the support article with the details: support.etcconnect.com/.../General_Monitor_Information
