Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a DMX Input device for a PC/Mac running a Nomad?
I wish to use an old LSC Maxim as physical faders for busking.
Any way to patch in maybe a Enttec USB Pro?
Cheers!

I've used the DMXKing eDMX1 pro for this as it can take DMX in and output sACN. It may not be the most cost effective way but as I run my portable rig through one of these I have a spare anyway just in case.
More recently though I've bought a Behringer X-Touch Extender for $250 midi controller and created some software using osc to control nomads and that's really nice giving me not just motorised faders but coarse/fine rotary encoders and LCD labels that can change etc. Just started using for real a couple of weeks back, I'll probably publish the software somewhere when its a bit less raw.
USB dmx in won't work.
EOS take sACN in so to get DMX in you need something that transform it to sACN. So a ETC Gateway (Net3, Response) or any other device that can do that.
Hi Mike,
So you have definitely mapped these to the ETC Nomad software fader?
How do you map sACN/OSC to the faders?
I have tried used midi controllers via Luminosus software (using a Behringer BCF2000 Midi controller), however I found that they were not precise enough, often leaving the faders at 0.1% inside the ETC Software (disastrous for busking).
It just annoys me that the Nomads come with 2 DMX ports, that can't be reversed, yet any MA wing will have as many DMX inputs and outputs as you want in any direction.
Would really open up the market for smaller AV work for ETC.
Thanks!
Hi,
How would I map the sACN to the faders? I can't find any documentation on this?
Thanks!

That link is the manual section on sACN input for that side of setup. The mapping to a fader part is setting the action. So the action can be set to a fader number, and then the sACN input will "move" that fader up and down. You could also assign it to a sub directly.
