Temporary Darken Moving Heads

I have two ML illuminating a "room" on stage. And then, in the next scene point them in different directions, change one to blue the other to white and tighten its beam width. Works fine but you can see the beams as they move (naturally). Is there a way - without making a very short intermediate blackout cue - I can have them zero intensity whilst they move and then comeback up when in new position?

  • no. intensity is your job. you can have the console do the marking (moving while dark) for you.

just for the sake of completeness: some moving lights have a function that switches off intensity as soon as you move pan/tilt. i don't think that's really helpful even if it sounds just what you want at first glance. but you can't control the fade speed and you would have to make sure that it get's switched on and afterwards switched off again...
