Interesting "Anomaly" with EOS Classic Console

So, we were about three minutes from starting our Sunday morning service. The console had been on since around 5 in the morning, and there had been zero problems during our 7:45 run-through time. But for our 9 AM service, things got a little weird with our console. Recently, we've been having an issue where all of our house lighting comes up to full on its own. This occurrence is sporadic, and whenever it happens, we lose ALL control of our theatrical lighting, including any incandescent fixtures. Typically, our solution is to go to our 'Dimmer Room' and unplug the Ethernet input from the back of our Paradigm Architectural Processing Unit, which we had to replace about three years ago. Leaving it unplugged for the remainder of our services seems to temporarily fix this issue. Yesterday, we went to select 'Group 23', which are the drum cage LED'S, and when we used the intensity wheel to lower that group's intensity, the desk lamps on our console became under control by the wheel. We tried selecting our front light groups and turn them down, but we had no control of anything except for those console lights. After looking at the Desk Settings, the wheel was controlling the master brightness for the desk lamps. As far as I can recall, we've NEVER had this issue in the time that we've had our console. Is there any fix for our Paradigm issues and has anyone ever had the issue with the Console Desk Lamps?

Thanks,

Nick

  • Hi Nick:

Holding down "Displays" and rolling the level wheel should affect the level of the desk lamp.  Is there any chance that this button got stuck?  Could you run a face panel test to check?

As for the lack of control- if disconnecting the output from Paradigm seems to resolve things it seems more likely that Paradigm is doing something odd that the Eos console.  Perhaps give technical support a ring if you can when this happens.
