PSD Questions

I'm looking at a cue list put together by some one else and having a tough time wading through the manual to find some answers;
In the M/V column there are some "F2"s (from my forwards) but in the book I see an example PSD with a "F5" and a "F9" (all mine are "F2"!) what dictates the # following F? Similar for some Hang H# entries in the example. Where does the # come from?
In the Int/Up and Int/Down columns I see some entries enclosed in boxes and some not. (I'll use square brackets)
[ 5 ]  = 5 up and 5 down. OK
[ 5 ] / [ 10 ] = 5 up and 10 down. OK
But
[ 5 ] / 10  = 5 up but ?
 5 / [ 10] = 10 down but ?   And
5[ 5] /     = ?
There may be a place I can find this or a tutorial.

  • If I'm understanding your brackets, the following is how it works:

    [ 5 ] / 10   = 5 up and 10 down, but there is nothing actually fading down in that cue. Likewise for 5 / [ 10 ]  - there is nothing fading up.

    5 [ 5 ] = 5 up with a 5 delay on the up only (no down time indicated). The number outside the box is the delay.

    You can clear time to the default (if desired) by saying cue x time enter. You can likewise get rid of the delay by saying cue x delay enter. The best thing might be to search in ETC's youtube channel - there are videos there that explain functions on their own. Start here! www.youtube.com/watch

  • You had my brackets correct. And thinking about what you say makes sense. I can't think why this guy put in 21 / [5] which now looks to me it's going to take 21 seconds for nothing to fade up! I.E. as anything needed up must be up then he's really put a minimum of 21 seconds for the cue to take effect! Anything coming down will only take 5 secs so there's a 16 second difference. I will look at the you tubes and thank you again.
