I assume you want to have an icon like the one that appears in the top right of each screen? Isn't it just as easy to touch a tab as it is to select the icons? Banks of 10 faders can be found on tab 28 Fader Controls.

Yeah, basically temporary quick access that disappears when you're done. For quick tasks like work lights or quick access to master fx. Like while I'm on nomad without my physical faders and have a quick thought while programming.
You could use that argument for the popup virtual keyboard but it's just the convenience of having them on top.
