EOS/ION effect

Hi all,

I'm still learning our ETC EOS/ION board.  I have a silk swath lit with Chauvet color palettes on channels 49-54.  I need to make the palettes cycle reasonably rapidly through colors I select.  Can someone instruct me?  Send me a macro or saved cue file that will do this?

  • That's a bit vague, but I would suggest recording a range of Color Palates and then creating an absolute effect where the "level" of each "action" is a different Color Palate and adjusting the "time" " dwell" and "cycle time" to your liking. If you need more instruction, feel free to repost.

  • I'm not sure what you mean by "recording a range of color palettes" or how to go about this.  I think I understand the other steps.

  • By "a range of color palates", I meant record a bunch of different color palates. Does that help?

  • Yes, that makes sense.

Okay, so let's say I want to do this:

    Effect 1 is

1 = all color palettes at red for 5 seconds

2 = one color palette at blue for 5 seconds (the rest stay at red)

3 = all color palettes at purple for 5 seconds...

And I want this to loop infinitely during Cue 29.

Thanks for all your help on this.

  • Just a bit of clarification: a palate is a palate, as to what channels go to that palate is relative.

If I understand you correctly, you want all all channels (49-54) to go to red for 5 sec then have one channel (let's call it 49) go blue for 5 sec, and then all channels go purple for 5 sec. if that is the case, I would make 2 effects:

    absolute effect 1:

action 1 "'time 0" "dwell 5" Level "red"

action 2 "'time 0" "dwell 5" Level "red"

action 3 "'time 0" "dwell 5" Level "purple"

these should be applied to channels 50-54:

    absolute effect 2:

action 1 "'time 0" "dwell 5" Level "red"

action 2 "'time 0" "dwell 5" Level "blue"

action 3 "'time 0" "dwell 5" Level "purple"

Once you have written these FX go live and input:

    [5] [0] [thru] [5] [4] [effect] [1] [enter]

    [4] [9] [effect] [2] [enter]
    then
    [update] [cue] [2] [9] [enter]
