Notes field in patch

Does anyone know if there is a way to quickly view the notes field in the patch database? Im using that field to identify various things such as the non dim control channel for scrollers, that a source 4 has a 750 bulb - so that the board op can find info even faster than looking it up in paperwork.

Right now i can get the info the fastest by going into patch, selecting the CH, hitting the database tab.  This isn't bad but wondering if this can be done LIVE?

Thanks

Greg

  • If you use a keyword instead of a note then the information will appear in the Patch tab of the About box. I'm not sure that's any quicker.

  • ^^ I agree with Sk8ers_dad...  define keywords, and set them in the Text fields.  This will then show up in the [about] window under {patch}.  You can leave the about window open if you like, so when a channel is selected, the keywords will pop up. (as long as you have the patch tab selected).

Doing it this way also allows you to use these keywords as selection tools by using Query.  Eg, you want to select all the S4's in the rig with 750w bubbles - press [Query].  Press {keywords} and all your defined keywords will appear.  Assuming you have defined a keyword that says "750w" you can then press {750w} to select all your 750w fixtures.
