OS/EOS Crash Recovery

We occasionally get a 'know it all" who switches the unit off by pressing and holding the [PWR] button (and crashing the system) which has resulted in error messages on next startup. I live in fear that one night I will get a call saying the OS has failed to boot just before a show!

What can I do? Is there a way for me to make a bootable USB stick that would automatically initiate on power up and restore the OS and EOS from perhaps drive D: (like my home computer)?

  • Hi! Because Eos consoles are just computers, repeated improper shutdowns could result in hard drive corruption. If needed, we do offer "Re-image kits" that will completely wipe the OS and reinstall it. This process takes a bit of time and is not something you would want to run every time you boot the console. But if you are worried you are experiencing issues like a corrupt hard drive, you can reach out to us at the link below to request this image kit. Make sure to have the Serial Number of your console handy.
