2.9.0.40 isn't an Eos version. You should check the software version in About (with an empty command line).
When you say they don't register in the console, is it just that you don't see the commands in the console's command line, or is there also no reaction to them? Because if your iRFR is a different user than your console it is normal that you don't see the commands. But of course you should see the result of something like Chan 1 At Full Enter.
