EOS 3.0 For Element 2 and PC

The PC version used to be something like "ETC EOS Nomad .. " but the download link I saw today said "EOS Family Software For PC" and it put "ETC_EosFamily_v3.0.o" in my download folder. Is this this the file I should run to update my at home PC? And if it is, where will I find the update for our Element 2 at the theater?

  • Yep, I got that and the release notes thanks. Just need to get the "Element v3.0.0 User Manual Rev A" (Though I imagine this will be in the Help Fn on the board). Plus I need to look at the Aug3 Quickstart and the new buttons thing. Looks like tonight = some reading!

  • There is a lot in 3.0 I need to look at before putting it on the console. This brings up some questions:

1/ If our console is at 2.9.0 should we update to 2.9.1 1st?

2/ If console remains at 2.9 for a while but I use 3.0 at home on the PC to practice can I still edit show files I bring home and take them back to console or should I use the shell to use to 2.9.1 at home to do this?

3/ Not clear yet: How do I evoke the Augmented 3D in 3.0 or is it a separate installation?

4/ Currently using iRFR for a Android remote control tablet and the ETCLink tablet. Will we need to change any IP settings under 3.0

Sorry. Big list! But as we use volunteers on the board I have to be really very conversant with 3.0 before putting it on the console. Thank you for your help

  • 1 - as long as you are running 2.9.x it doesn't matter - but you should update to 2.9.1 Slight smile

2 - 2.9.x and 3.x can be installed side-by-side on PC and consoles.  Consoles have a switch in the Shell to change which version you will launch.

    3 - It is Tab 38

4 - If it is the same PC/Console/Mac then no.

Most of this is covered in Manual - What's new section for 3.0.

  • Got it and yes the manual is open. Was visiting' Control Booth' and stumbled upon Gafftaper's "EOS v3.0 has been released" video. Really well laid out and presented. Took only a few minutes to give me a clear view of the 3.0.0 major change areas. Well done.
