File server question

Hey Guys,

Where we are we have about 6 different locations, with 2 consoles in each room.

Currently we have a central SMB server contacted to the internal network of our church that I already use to manually save shooflies on via USB.

My question is, are the EOS consoles able to connect directly to our file server to save the step of loading and unloading via usb.

I have tried mapping it to a network drive via settings, but no dice.

Thanks guys

  • This is absolutely possible, and is something I do regularly.

When you're setting up the mapped network drive, you will need to choose Other and then enter the username and password of a user account on the smb NAS. It's also possible that you will need to enter the NAS as an IP address rather than by name if you have statically assigned the network address of the console, as it will not have a search domain to look for the device.
