I would like to check exact DMX levels being outputted via console
Tab 37 = sACN Output Viewer. This shows you the exact DMX values.
it is disabled, guess you cant see it in the offline editor, will have to check when I am on actual console.
Are you in 2.9 or 3.0? Windows or Mac?
Are you booting into Eos or Element mode?
And, are you booting from the shell into "Offline" as opposed to "Offline w/viz"? "Offline" will show it as disabled, yes. But it will work as expected in "Offline w/viz", so you can get a sense of what's going on without being on a console.
thank you kindly rebootiing in Offline wit/cheez did the trick.
On this subject. If I open my sACN viewer (which is worth its weight in gold) it scrunches the tombstone up because it is trying to put too many addresses on the screen and hence not able to show the values. Is there a way I can see less but scroll to higher numbers?
No, you either see a full universe or nothing
Ran into the same problem (I assume.)
No DMX output visible, I guess the crunched tombstones hide the numbers. Sadly.
Any workaround? Any trick to see the raw output?
Well we dont use more than half a univierse so I cheated and limited to 256 in setup. Could then see the numbers. My Bad - but it works for us.
if you know wich Fixture you want to look at, you can also use [About] {Current Values}
An other option is a second program like sACNViewer.
And While in Tab37 you can select a DMX Adress and have a look at the right side. All Infos will be shown there for the selection. Not like a 'quick look' but a way around it.
One more option to know: About + Live is a Display Toggle that shows DMX output in tombstones. You can hold About and double-press Live to make that "latch".
Thanks, those are great tips!
Tiny improvement idea, for dmx addresses under About>Patch : formatting like under Patch (Format button to toggle).
