Re-learning my Ion light board

I have an Ion light board that I am reintroducing myself to. I can slowly navigate through. However, when I am on live, the lights will not come up. So I feel I'm missing a step somewhere. I even recorded a full wash into a submaster, which is what I'm trying to do, but the lights do not come up. If someone can advise me, that would be great!

Do you have the DMX or other control data connected to the console?

Yes, it is. Thank you for replying. My light board is connected to a whole new system and with the help from our sales rep, I was able to get them on. It was as easy as flipping a switch, and I felt really dumb...LOL! But I also learned some new things as well.
