ETC ION Midi Timecode help

It would be much easier to just send MIDI timecode and receive it into the desk as an external source than by sending a MSC command and starting the internal clock, which is what I think you're suggesting. To do it your way, you'd need to write a macro that sets the internal TC clock to a specific time and then trigger that macro using an MSC command. But much easier as I say would be running MTC from your external source.

you can record the cues even if the timecode delivery isn't clear yet. it doesn't change anything for the cues.

assigning timecode to cues happens in the showcontrol tab (tab 11), think of it as translation table that assigns certain incoming timecode times to a cue. but you will need the cue either way, no matter if you press Go manually or the timecode does it for you.
