EOS Remote App

Question

The EOS Remote App for my iPhone works fine, except that the buttons are really tiny. So I got a iPad and put the app on it to no avail. I've configured everything the same as it is on on iPhone, yet the version that is on my iPad never is able to connect to my ION XE 20. Do I need to purchase a second license even tho I'll only be running one copy at a time or is there some magic I'm missing?

I use the EOS Remote app on iPhone and two iPads without any problems. Specific DHCP and DNS settings were not required. The console, the iPhone and the iPads only need to be on the same network.
However, it always takes a moment until the console is visible in the app.
