channel control conflicts

currently I have my Eos and RVI set to be different users.  if I bring up a channel on the RVI and then go to use the Eos later the eos still has control of the channel, but [sneak][enter] and [goto cue]0[enter] wont fade the channel out.  sneak will only work if I select the channel specifically.  the only way I have found to resolve this is to go back to the RVI and release the manual value of that channel with either sneak or gotocue 0.  is there a take control function that reasserts control of all channels to the main console like there is in an obsession?

I'm running EOS v.1.4.5

  • I also have been wondering this.  I know my Obsession II has take control, but I can't find this on my EOS.

Also speaking of things my Obsession II has (not that I'm intentionally highjacking this thread) I really miss the preview softkey.

  • Are you guys using partitioned control?

Preview function in discussion.... a bit harder than on Obsession, as the display conventions are quite different.  Will get to it though....

  • I am not using partitioned control.  The issue I always have is when I bring something up on the client computer backstage (user 2) and leave the channels selected, then I go up to the booth to start the show.  I then have the selected channels 'stuck'. I normaly just call down on headset and have someone hit clear the client computer and I get control back.

its the same for me, the problem occurrs when we leave a channel selected on the RVI.

  • I'm sure Anne will have a better way, but in the mean time, can you  write a macro on the EOS that changes UserID to the user of the RVI, then hits clear a couple times, and then switches back to the UID of the EOS?

Switching users takes no time at all. You would probably only see the screen blink before you were back in your original user.
