X-Keys question

Looking at setting up an X-Keys controller with my Ion console.

I've seen the setup on the ETC website, and think its nice from a programming/designer controller point of view. However I'm in need of a way to do simple playback control.

At the moment I think an X-Keys stick with 16 buttons would be idea. with the buttions prgrammed to trigger: 'Go', 'Stop/Back', 'go to cue', numerals 0-9 and 'enter'.

Is this at all archievable/programmable into the X-Keys controller.

(Having never delt with x-kays before, I am a complete novice)

Cheers Chris

  • Yes, you can do that.

You'll need to program the relevant keyboard shortcuts into the buttons you want, and you need to run the X-Keys in "Memory Resident Mode", also known as "Hardware Mode" - the software to do this will be included with your X-Keys unit.

PI Engineering will be able to help with the details - they have an excellent support department.
