Add effects to multiple cues

Hi all,

So we are off to the races with our new console, and loving it.  Programming yesterday went very well, however we did run into one minor issue that we could not figure out a problem to.

The show was imported from Express.  All of the effects were previously programmed on subs and triggered in cues by macros.  Now, effects are their own entity.  So we built the effects again.

Now here was the issue... (example) we wanted to take Channels 51, 52, 53 and assign Effect 2 to those channels in cues 48.5 thru 60.

Yesterday, we just "learned" some quick macros and then went into each cue and ran the macro then updated the cues.  It was faster than typing the entire info, but I am sure there must be a better way.

We obviously don't want to track record from the first cue as we will wind up overwriting cues for days (if I am not mistaken).  So is there a way to make the following change:

Channels 51, 52, 53 @ Effect 2.  Record Cues 48.5 thru 60?

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks.

Hi Darren:  You can do multiple cue edits in blind.  Goto blind, type your cue range. type 51 thru 53 Effect 2 enter.

Another solution: in Live, Cue 60 Block Enter. Goto cue 48.5 enter.  51 thru 53 effect 2 enter. record track enter.

The block cue will stop the effect from tracking further (I would think).  That's the magic of the undo key.

You don't need macros for effects on cues anymore.

Congrats on the console.  Which venue is it in?

  • Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the info.  Both ideas make perfect sense.  I will try them both.

As for the console, actually both venues got them!  Long story...will explain some time when I see ya.  However, the Stanley won't get to use theirs till September since the consoles arrived after tech for Les Miserables had already started.

So we have transferred our Express tour of Altar Boyz into the ION for its run here at GI.  Should be great fun.

Is your console on software 1.4.5?  Ours arrived at 1.4.4.  Just wondering if I should update or leave as is for now.

Hope all is well at the Chan.

    Cheers,
    Darren

  • Hi Darren

I'm still running 1.4.3.  There appeared to be issues upgrading the remote software when 1.4.3 was released, and then we got busy, so I'm just waiting for 1.5 (hopefully this month!)

I love the wireless remote (as long as nothing stomps on the signal).  get at least 1 touch screen, and 50 subs.

    Enjoy

    Andrew
