Query +Query +Query breaks at second '+'

This might be deliberate, but I can't think of any good reason for it to be:

Query FixtureType (fixtype1) + Queary FixtureType (fixtype2) +

as soon as you press the second '+', the command line just says 'Chan'.

Actually, turns out this isn't doing what you'd expect at the first '+' either, since if you press 'Enter' you get a 'Channel List Is Empty' error.

I think Query here is actually working as an intersection command, the 'Only' command of very old ETC consoles (so the chan list is empty because there are no 'VL3000s' that are also 'VL1000s', say).

But this isn't what you'd expect from the '+' command.

I think there's an 'end query' function that I've seen appearing on the command line at various times that might help here, but I don't see a way of accessing that via a softkey.

Just curious as to whether this is by design (and so just feels odd) or by accident.

This is the current release version.

Thanks,

Rob.

  • Yes, I understand that logic. But that's not how '+' works anywhere else in the desk. If it's working differently here, it should surely post something different onto the command line. Plus, if it's going to 'fail' (ie. select no chans) it should surely be consistent about when it gives the error and/or what it does. At the moment the first '+' and the second '+' give different results.
