vl 1000 parameter check

Question

i think i already know the answer to my question 
 
 BUT 
 
 working on the ion with vl 1000's. is there a way to run a check of all the parameters? or do i have to a build a macro, or a cue, something similar? 
 
 i'm already aware of using the fixture global reset while the lamp is hot to see the fixture calibrate. but i would like to see all paramters (especially gobos and shutters)

I think just writing a handful of q's is the answer. As far as the indexing of templates, good luck, I can't seem to get it to always index the exact same way of the fixtures end, but if you make a square it's a quick check of all 8 shutter motors.
