I am a large proponent of the 3-2-1 rule of data safety (3 copies, over 2 Mediums, 1 of which is off site), I have seen there are possibilities with VPNs and what not. I know over the internet isn't a supported way to run a console, and the internet is a dangerous place to have a console on. My thought is to set up a network infrastructure that has a some level of protection like a security gateway and or hardware firewall.
That said I want to be able to have a console connected to be able to check on the system from home but more importantly I want to be able to save a copy of the show to a NAS that is off site.
Ultimately I am hoping I could possibly be pointed in the direction of some helpful documentation of how to accomplish this, or the right places to look to learn what I need to for how to do it safely, or just how to do it at all.
