Chris-
Backup works fairly simply - all devices on the system (consoles, RPUs, clients) get the complete showfile from the Master when they connect. Any and all changes that are made to the showfile by any user from that point are also synchronised to all users. Clients and backups (backups are essentially special clients that can take control of the rig manually or automatically) can open/save shows to/from their own storage or that of the master.
I've not yet connected a remote, but I will soon and will let you know.
Give me a call - you should come visit us and see the remote and new 1.2 features soon-

Chris. Sorry about the delay in replying. Luke is correct, but please find an attached document that describes the front panel controls and indicators, as well as the theory of operation for backup. The RFR has the basic maintenance and playback functions that you'd typically need from onstage. We tried to keep the operation simple, so not all functions of the console are represented. The London office does have an RFR (as well as an RPU). Luke has beta code for 1.2, so he can show you how the RFR works whenever you have the time.
Great to see you last week!
Anne
