Suggestions for EOS Console

I use an Eos and Ion console on a daily basis at the road house I work at and thought of a few suggestions I think might improve one or both of the consoles.

First off, when selecting groups from the direct selects, at the moment, every time you hit the direct select for instance, group 1, it will keep adding a group one in the syntax line however many times you push the button.  I wanted to know if making it sort of like an on/off switch would be benifical.  For instance if it was selected by mistake, instead of hitting the clear button to clear it out, you just simply push the direct select a second time and it would deselect it.

The next concerns the label display for the faders.  I have come across multiple times where my label has been just to long to fit into the small screen and it gets cut off on either side.  If in a case where I have to a have a longer label, is it possible to make the small label screen scroll a long label sort of like a billboard across the small screen automatically?  I guess the same would apply to other label areas too like the direct selects.  If this is confusing to what I am getting at, I will try and clarify.

The third suggestion concerns the grandmaster for EOS.  I wanted to know if it would make since to open up the flexibility of the grandmaster, which is now limited to, I believe, only intensity, color and beam (?).  I would like to see the ability to customize the grandmaster in a way that is more open rather being limited to those three things.  It would be nice to be able to define the grandmaster to control certain groups, submasters, palettes or any other combinations I can't think of at the user’s choice.   I don't know if there is already a way to basically do that in some other way.

Just a few suggestions.

  • Hi there-

The point about the Groups Direct Select is very valid, and has in fact changed in the upcoming release. It does exactly as you suggest - toggles the state.

Regarding the Grandmaster - is there a reason that you're not using Inhibitive submasters? These are, largely, like definable Grandmasters for certain channels. Both the Grandmaster and Inhibitive Submasters only affect Intensity - they do not change NPs.

To change the mode of a sub:

    [Sub][1]{Mode}[Enter]

Non-zero channels in the sub will now act as inhibitors for any thing that tries to bring that channel up.

    Hope that helps?
