Record CUEONLY/TRACK

If I'm linking cues backwards and skipping cues (for instance, Cue 4, 5, 6, 7.5, 7, 8, 9 - <6 links to7.5 and 7.5 links to 7 and 7 links to 8>) and I make a change to a cue (7.5) and "Record" "CueOnly" "Enter" and I'm in "Tracking" mode, does this cause problems with the tracking because they're not in numerical order?  I'm thinking it shouldn't, but that's the only thing I can attribute it to.  It doesn't do it every time, but wanted to see if anyone else had that problem.

  • Not exactly.  Say that I make a change on Cue 7.5 and re-record/cueonly/enter.  Because I'm going from Q6 > 7.5 > 7 > 8  when I go from 7.5 to 7 channels are on or off that I didn't make changes to in Q7.5.  So I'm wondering if because I'm going "out of order" sequentially that it messes up the "tracking".  I thought that when I  did "Record Cue 7.5 CueOnly Enter" that changes would only affect that cue and not track forward.  Am I missing something?  I came from 8-9 years on Express/Expression 3 consoles, so the Record, RecordOnly, Update, Track/CueOnly concepts are still somewhat confusing to me:-)

  •  "when I go from 7.5 to 7 channels are on or off that I didn't make changes to in 7.5."    But are they stored in cue 7?  Can you send me your showfile and tell me the channels that you are concerned about?

Cue Only prevents changes tracking forward - always.   The order should make no difference - because any out of sequence cue (via a Go To command, linking, or from loading a new cue into pending) are always replayed in the entirety.  Moves and tracks.
