Error in transferring show file PC Nomad to Mac Nomad

Hi all,

Two Nomads: Mac primary, PC client, both running 3.1.1R120 and connect properly with control of the rig from both.

Trying to load any show file from the PC results in an error when connected as client or backup to the Mac. PC as primary with Mac backup allows loading of the file. Loading from the Mac allows loading of the file.

Also, merging anything in from the PC doesn't work - but does from the Mac. The only things on the network are the two computers and a node: the switches are unmanaged.

The error appears in blue text in the CIA in the usual transfer in progress info, but disappeared quickly so I didn't read the full message in time. It happened on several occasions, including after reboots and restarting the software.

I did wonder if it was an interesting Mac issue (the PC has been used on very many different setups over the last few years without issue), but when the two instances of Eos were swapped (Primary<==>Client), the issue didn't occur. Swapping back, the issue happened again.

Any help gratefully received!!

All the best,

David.

  • If firewall settinggs don't make a difference, would you mind performing one clean test with a simple showfile, then send us the logs from each computer to compare?

    I would suggest

    1. ETCnomad on Mac not started, Deep Clear on the PC, then start as Primary.  Patch a channel and make a cue, then save that showfile.
    2. Start Mac as Client.  It should receive the showfile from the PC and "work"
    3. Perform a save (this will make sure this simple showfile is available on the Mac).
    4. Quit ETCnomad on both devices
    5. Deep Clear on the Mac, then start as Primary
    6. Open that simple showfile on the Mac
    7. Start the PC in Client or Backup and have it "fail to connect"
    8. Quit both devices and save logs.

You can either attach the .zip files here or email them to us at eos @ etcconnect.com (please reference this forum thread in your email).

    When you say "

merging anything in from the PC doesn't work - but does from the Mac

I'm guessing it's the same problem, just in a different guise.

    Thanks,
