I am a lighting designer at a high school, and in the tech week of our shows we normally bring the lighting board from the booth down to the orchestra level in order to program cues. We are trying to figure out a way to program from the orchestra level without the process of having to bring down the board. We think that the ETC nomad and ETC nomad key are what we are looking for, but are a but confused.
Please correct me if im wrong:
- We connect a wifi routers LAN port to an ethernet port on the back of the ETC Element board. Then connect my MacBook (with ETC Nomad software and an ETC nomad key plugged in), to that wifi network. then we should be able to program from the MacBook (instead of from the board) .
- im sure the process is allot more complicated than that, I would appreciate any clarification in the responses
Do I have to change any networking/router settings for it to work?
We have a fairly tight budget, so I want to make sure my thought process for how it works is correct before I buy it.
