Rate Override

I would like to use it in previews but at the moment I can't.

I need to use it when I have a long cue running with a moving light fading out and then marking at the end of the cue (for the following Q) but the next cue has been called and should be running. If this cue still has 5 seconds to playback and reset the light I would like to rate this through because I can't go on the next cue until the moving light has marked

The problem at the moment is if I did rate the running cue through and the rate end up at 400%, this doesn't reset back to 100% for the next cue. So when I rush to go into the next scene (because it's already late) instead of it being a 20 second slow fade I now have a 5 second fade up.

So, you'd like the rate override to release (while the previously adjusted cue continues it modified playback) when the next Go happens.    Or, show as released if that cue actually completed before the next go.  (Sort of how it used to work??)  :-)

No I don't want it to return to the old way. Once the cue has completed I would like the rate value to just return to 100%.

The problem with the old way was you had to keep reapplying the rate wheel to the playback which took to much time. You want rate on the playback for the whole show just incase to need it.

The problem with returning the rate to 100% is for people that are using playbacks as chasers.

Take 2.... so the rate is "sticky" once applied, but always resets to 100% between cues, unless those cues are linked with a follow/hang time?

This would actually deal with playbacks as chasers, as those cues always have a follow/hang.

This would be better then the current implementation for me.

I like Nick's suggestion. I too, (rarely) use it to push through a Cue before running the next. Having it reset to 100% upon completion would allow me to leave a list in rate mode and not worry about trying to release rate control (the fader display doesn't always repond to the [Rate] button straight away).

(I do concede though, that i am not a heavy Rate user)

In twelve years of quite "full on" strand500 shows I have "rate overrided" about five times. It was good that I could and helped the show (musical theatre).

Pressing the rate button after the save was fine but there (for my applications) should be nothing harder to return to my pre programed show including times.

About to do my first on the Eon and am looking forward to it, nice to see the active forum as well.
