Inhibiting fixtures from snapping up

Just wondering if it's possible to inhibit fixtures from snapping up / setting a minimum fade time in patch.

We're working with a few mega bright SGM Q10 floods at floor level and want to be able to prevent accidentally snapping them up and obliterating retinas when cue-hopping etc.

    Question seconded. A few years ago I was in a house where the chief technician would scold me when I snapped on the LED houselights rather than fading them in over 5s. Whether this is correct or not, we told me they were far more likely to sustain damage when snapping on, causing the need to remove the seating and bring in the big genie lift.
