Manual Master mode for cue lists: when transitioning via Master fader pair, can it preserve relative up/down timing?

I like having cue lists in Manual Master mode, for cues with slow transitions which might change in duration from one performance to the next. Then when using the Master fader pair to transition, EOS preserves the relative timings within a cue, to a certain degree -- delays, discrete timings are generally honoured. Timing is scaled so that full fader travel corresponds to the transition time for the cue. Proportional mode discards all relative timings.
However:
Even in Manual Master mode, Up time (combined with the time for all NIP moves) is scaled independently from the down time. So if the Up time is 5 seconds and the Down time is 2 seconds, then pushing both faders the same distance, at the same speed, doesn't preserve the relative difference in timing between up and down fades. Both Up and Down parts of the transition would complete in the same time, assuming that both faders are moved at the same speed.
Is there an easy way of locking the scaling of Up and Down Times to each other? Other than manually messing around with discrete timing to force the total Up and Down transitions to be equal duration?
Of course I'm aware that it's TWO faders for the ability to control Up and Down separately. But in the heat of the moment during a performance, it would often be easier to have the relative up/down timing pre-baked. That the board op could then still choose to run Up and Down faders at different speeds is fine.
