Change channel values

Hi,

we need to change very often the recorded values between 2 channels (dimmers, scrollers or moving lights) for a whole show. For example everything what is recorded in 312 should be now in 313 and viceversa. Is there any easy way to do that?

Thanks fof ideas:-)

  • do you want to copy the information from 312 into 313? or do you want channel 312 to become 313?

    To make channel 312, become channel 313, go to Patch. Channel [312] {Move To} [313] [Enter] Please Confirm? [Enter] If it doesn't ask you to confirm, then the channel you are moving to does not contain any cue information.

    If you have any cue information in channel 313, it will be replaced by channel 312. So in your case where I think you want to swap the channels, you would want to have a dummy storage channel. So first move channel 312 to channel 999. then move channel 313 to 312. Then finally move 999 to 313.

    {Move To} is either a softkey in patch, or you can press the [Copy To] hard key twice to become {Move To}

    To Copy a channels programming into another channel for an entire show, I find the easiest way is to go into blind and spreadsheet mode. Type [Cue] [1] [thru] [enter]. This will select the entire cue list. Then channel [x] [Copy to] [y] [Enter] where x is the channel with the information and y is the channel you want to copy it into. Alternatly you can also choose to do channel [y] [Recall From] [x]

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks for fast answer!

    Accually we know about the kind of swap procedure using dummy fixture, but it is really bit comlpicated if you want to swap several different types of devices...might it be possible to add a real function Swap? E.g. typing Copy to 3 times or softkey: Chan x Swap with Chan y...does that make sense?

    Cheers
