Assert-Load behaviour for the master fader

In the 1.4.x versions of the software, if I changed something in the active cue in blind, I could use Assert and Load to re-reun the cue in Live to see the change on stage.  In 1.7 in order to re-run the cue I have to use Assert and Load plus press the GO button.  Assert and Load just makes the cue the next cue to run.  I prefer the old behavior although I suppose the new way is more consistent with the other uses of the Load key.

Is this a bug or a change to make the syntax more consistent?

  • Dale, I am not seeing this.  Making a change to the active cue in blind, and then pressing [assert] + [load] from live is replaying the new content.

  • Anne, what you replied is what the manual says the desk should do, BUT mine doesn't.  Here's what happens when I change the active queue in blind.  I return to LIVE and press Fader Config.  The softkeys change to display Assert, etc. If I release the Fader Config key at this point the soft keys do  not change back to the original state.  I press ASSERT and then LOAD -  the text CUE n/m is posted to the command  line and the soft keys now return to their original display.  Pressing Enter does nothing but pressing LOAD again changes the Next Queue in the stack to the one I changed in blind.  Now I can press GO and the queue will run showing the changes on stage.

What can I do to get it to work as described in the book?

  • Are you keeping the Assert key depressed while you hold the load button??  All of the fader controls require a maintained press while the necessary load key is pressed??

The Fader Controls now latch.  The behavior is a change from 1.4.x software.   The fader controls softkeys will stay posted until you take any action not related to fader controls (such as selecting a channel).

    Does that help?

  • Anne,

thanks for the explanation.  I guess I didn't understand the explanation in the manual clearly enough.   My problem was that I wasn't holding the Assert key while pressing Load.

I like the latching function of the Fader Control key.

  • Dale, we will take a look at the manual to see if we can improve the description.

    Thanks!!
