. . . input error behaviour in the fixture creator/editor? If I mistype or create a syntax error as I am often prone to do, clearing the error causes the user to be bounced out of the editor.
Thanks.

ok anne,
i think i found one. when i go to shut down my light rig dousing the arc lights now takes several atempts to shut down all of the fixtures. each time diferent combinations of lights douse and it generaly takes 4 atempts to get all of them to go out. this showed up as of 1.7 update
Which fixture types do you see this with?
Did you do a library update/patch from the 1.7 library, or are they still patched using the 1.4.5 fixture library?
- In other words, are you now using a different version of the fixture personality from previously?
Do you have an example showfile we can take a look at?
ok, this is hapening with vl arcs 2000 spot/wash & 3000 spots. i will try updateing the patch. was there a change to the profile?
Thanks - there have some tweaks to command timing in some of the Vari*lite fixtures, but I don't recall which Eos library these came in at.
How long do you give the lights to respond?
Vari*lites are a little odd, as the 'action' doesn't happen until the end of the command sequence - I believe the timing is 3 seconds for the VL2000/3000.
updating the fixtures in the patch was the solution
We've had trouble arcing (and de-arcing) our VL-3500Q's using the standard VL-3500 fixture profile in the EOS library.
In Lamp Control, Lamp On Steps,
1. DMX Ch. 31 @ DMX level 252 for 3 secs.
2. DMX Ch. 31 @ DMX level 252 for 1 sec.
We've used a macro to arc all 11 VL-3500's simultaneously as well as arcing them individually. We've had more succes arcing them individually.
We've also had some success changing the timing in Step 1 of the Lamp On Steps from 3 secs to 6 secs.
We're running software version 1.7, and our Gateway DMX Port Output speed is currently set at maximum.

the fixture database does not update automaticly, you have to update each fixture type in your patch for each show file.
Just so you guys know, when you open a show file created on a previous software version, we keep the library information the show was originally created with. This is to protect your show in case some change was made in the library that would adversely impact your show. So, the Update Library function in patch is a way to get the most currently version of the profile installed, on a fixture by fixture basis.
In an upcoming build, we are changing it so that, when you go to "fixtures" in patch, any devices with new/modified library data will be highlighted.
