Submasters as ....

Hey all,

Maybe I am missing this in the manual, but I am pretty sure i have read the thing page by page several times by now and have to ask, when using submasters... is there a way to:

1.) Set the sub as an intensity master for the cue stack(list)... I understand the uses of the being able to manually run a cue, but using it as an intensity master would be REALLY handy.

2.) Set up a sub to control the size of FX

3.) Set a sub to control rate(speed) of FX

4.) Set a sub to control rate(speed) of cue stacks?

I dunno know about anyone else but these are REALLY handy functions that I have found for faders for a live venue like our and I would rather no haul my own console into my home venue when we have a brandy new Ion to play with.

If these things do not exist can we put them into the to do pile.  It again, may be for lack of experience on the console, but I am feeling a bit limited in missing some of my favorite features...

Also I have noticed there is no [FAN] sort of feature for timings, pallettes, or FX offset.

  • D,

Some of your requests are already available and some of them don't exist yet.

    1. If you double hit the cue key to get into your cue list you can select a cue list (example cue 2/ ) and your softkeys will repaint to list the options for that cue list. These options include the fader mode which is either propotional or I-Master.  The I-Master option is what you are looking for.

    2.  If you set a sub to be an FX sub you will be able to control the size of the FX on the fader.

    3. FX speed is controlled through the effect status display. You can select an effect and then change the rate/size etc with the encoders or command line.  You can get the effect status display up by hitting the displays key and then the softkey for effect status.  you can also press the effect button from a clear command line to get to the display.

    4.  The rate control for cue stacks is controlled, on the Ion, through the fader control sub menu of the softkeys, and on the Eos through the rate button and the rate wheel.

Fan is currently being worked on.

    hope this helps.

  • Helps ALOT... thank you.  I will get my fingers into this puppy sooner or later.   I have to remember after 8 years on the express/expresison line, things change especially when I have spent so much time on some other consoles in the past couple years outside the etc lines.

OKay... anotehr random feature that I would love to ask for although it will probably never show up... is there a way to do a tap to time for an effect?  This makes busking soooo much easier when working music festivals.  If we get that and some MSEX2 compatibility I will be a born again ETC accolyte.

    Anyhow, thanks for the help,

  • Speaking of "tap to time," The audio input on my Ion leads me to ask the question about the possibility of a Beat Analyzer. . .

  • I think it would be great when busking to be able to store different palettes under the subs, for instance, i store a position under a sub and when the subs fader is set to 0%, the fixtures is at the current position, and when at 100%, the fixtures are at the palettes position, so the sub works as a manual fader for palettes.

  • new EOS op-i did notice you mentioned the word -Busking-is this possable w/EOS fader wings? thanks
