Patching Sensor dimmers

Clear Patch = clears all values out in the Patch. So each channel has no address patched to it.

Reset Patch = resets the patch to the default patch of 1 to 1 (1st Channel is 1st Address, 2nd Channel ist 2nd Address.. )

I just tried this in EOS offline 1.7- clear patch does clear out all values, but so does reset patch.  Reset does not do a 1 to 1 patch.

It seems that the two commands do the same thing.

Todd, in Eos they do.  Ion currently supports 1-1 patch by default though.  So, when working in Ion mode, you will see a difference.

Any idea about the "dimmer in use" message?  It's driving me crazy - okay , crazier than normal.

You mean the required confirmation when you are about to patch an address already patched to another channel?  Hmmm.... if you start with a clear patch, that should be manageable.  No????  :-)

Hi Anne,

I've tracked this one down- the confirmation message occurs when you are patching a Sensor_dimmer to a part of a channel and you explicity specify the part.

Our Sensor dimmer range is 1 to 894.  On the patch by channel screen, starting with a clear patch:

• chan 1 address 1 [enter] - no confirmation
• chan 1 address 2 [enter] - no confirmation, console adds part 2 to channel 1 automatically
• chan 2 part 2 address 3 [enter] - "address already in use"
• chan 2 part 3 address 899 [enter] - no confirmation
• chan 4 type Seachanger_XG-6ch
• chan 4 address 4/1 [enter]- no confirmation
• chan 4 part 2 address 100 [enter]- "address already in use"
