Eos Family Software 1.8 is released

You will find the code on the appropriate product downloads page.

1.8 adds:

Mirror mode from any device on the network, to mimic the external monitors of the "host" device.  With the advent of mirror mode, it is now possible to use a PC running the offline software on an Eos/Ion network without a client dongle.  When this is done, that PC may only connect in mirror mode, always mimicking the processor currently defined as the "primary."

FDX dimmer feedback

We have addressed a number of software issues in this release as well.  After 1.7 was released, we suggested to most of you that you disable dimmer feedback until we could address some issues.  These have been resolved in 1.8.

You will find these things of use:

Console software download (used for installation on any ETC manufacturer processor ... desk, RPUs, RVI)

Console offline software download (for offline use, or PCs on a network)

1.8 Manual Supplement (this is to be used in conjunction with the 1.7 manual).

Eos Family Library Additions

1.8 Hotkeys

In our last release, some of you asked for a download option that would include all related software and documentation.  We were not able to put this in place in time for 1.8, but we will do this for our next release.

Thanks much.  Happy programming.

Anne

  • Here are some odd things that have happened since upgrading to 1.8

    1) When using the [Time] key to display discrete timings on individual channels it is not mirrored by other devices that are operating in mirror mode.

    2) The command line displayed in the Live Table display sometimes disappears. I have not pinpointed when it seems to occur but I have restored it by going into Blind mode and then back into Live mode.

    3) The browser expand double-arrow disappeared while we had the browser collapsed leaving us unable to power the RVI off. We disconnected the ethernet cable which put us into trouble shoot mode and automatically brought the browser back in expanded form. We were then able to shut down in normal fashion. This RVi had been running in Mirror mode.
