Update cue range

Hi, I'm trying to update a channel (or range of channels) through a range of cues both in Live and in blind (spreadsheet so I can see what I'm doing). I eventually found cue (a) thru (b) [enter] channel x @ 50 (In Blind)

Is there any way of using the same update command in Live and Blind? Say 1 Thru 10 Update Cue 20 Thru 30 @ 5? This just gives a syntax error atm

Following on from this I need to add 10 points to each level through a range of cues. I have managed to find @ \110 but this only adds 10% (which is sometimes cool) not 10 points to each channel. I have manged to do it with +% but obviously this needs first to be set to the % (actually points, not %) that you want to add. The main stumbling block is that any normal intensity change will include all channels (including those at 0%). Command line accepts [Select Active] but it has no effect.

More of a feature request than anything else.

Cheers, Liam.

  • Liam,  I'm not sure about using the same command for Live and Blind.  Can one even use the Update command in Blind?...

In Live though, make 1 Thru 10 manual at 50%.  If they are the only manual channels, you can [Update Cue 20 Thru 30].  If there are other manual channels, you would go [1 Thru 10 Update Cue 20 Thru 30].

Your last question is a good one.  I look forward to hearing a reply to it.

    Hope that helps, B

  • Thanks for the reply  - you're correct, you can't update in blind (Don't know why though!) and yes, making a channel (or range of channels) to the correct level (ie manual) works, it would be nice to be able to just input the level from the command line (ie update @ 50%). It's a small thing but if you have lights you don't want to make live whilst you're programming (Pit lights, house lights, smoke machines etc. etc.) a direct command line update would be useful. And of course the ability to only increase the level in cues that are not zero! (ie update @ +10)

    Cheers, Liam.

BTW if anyone from ETC is reading, what happened to the user option of which record target was updated on an update command (Cue source or last called preset/palette?)

  • Hey Liam,

    1) You can't "update" in blind, because everything you do in blind is automatically updated.

    2) You can specify the adjusted +% level from the command line as follows:

    <channels> [@] [+] [0][2] [Enter]

    to add 2% your <channels>

    3) In blind you can select your cue range

[Blind] [Cue] <x> [Thru] <y> [Enter]

    Then adjust levels by percentage

    <channels> [@] [+] [0][2] <cue only> [Enter]

This syntax will not affect channels at 0%.

    Hope that helps.

  • Liam,

Another useful syntax which you may or may not know about:

    In blind

    Cue x thru y enter

    [Chan(s)] @ 50 {Replacewith} 60 enter

To select a range of cues and take channels which appear at 50% up to 60%
