ION with v1.8 Fan not working correctly

I just installed v1.8 on my  Ion and tried out the FAN function.  It does not work correctly.  For example, if I enter 1+4+41+42 FAN ENTER, then try to controll the intensity with the level wheel,  the first channel never lights and the other three behave as expected.  It doesn't matter which order I enter the channel numbers, whichever one is entered first does not repsond.  The four I listed are S4s with an IRIS, Scroller and iCue and none of the parameters respond on the first channel entered.

Is this a bug in 1.8 FAN?

  • Dale, this isn't a bug. When you fan, depending on your start channel, there is an anchor.  This anchor doesn't change.  So, if all of the channels were at zero, and you "fan from start", the anchor does not change its setting.    If you fan completely from the command line (channel 1 + 4 + 41+ 42 at 35 thru 85), channel 1 takes the first value, channel 42 the last value, with 4 and 41 set proportionally between.  When you are using fan from encoders/wheels,, the condition the parameter(s) is(are) in on channels before the fan is applied is very important.

    Hope that helps.
