Ion moving lights

I am new to ION and this is my first time working with the moving lights. We are using High End's Studio Spot 575. This is all of our first time using them, and we can not figure out how to calibrate the color picker. When we click on any color in the color picker, the circle just flashes to the spot we clicked and flashes right back, and no color is changed on the instrument. Also the 'default' color seems to be green (although, we did mess with something and now it's blue) and we haven't been able to figure out how to make the color just white. While we are new to this instrument, we have a good amount of experience in the lighting field. The manual for both ION and High End has been a dead end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • With a Studio Spot, or any other light with a color select wheel, the color picker will take you to the closest match in the wheel. You should have an encoder to select the colors as well - does this work as expected? If you use [Channel] [Color] [Home], does this work?

  • No, the color picker was not working AT ALL. We could use the hard keys and the wheels at the top of the board to go through and get a few different colors, but my teacher (I'm using it at my college) wants me to put the colors he wants in from the specific Rosco colors he gives me, and to use the color picker, and I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. And like I said, we can't figure out how to just get a white light, the basic light when we take out the colors is green.

I normally go to the manual and follow it step by step until it makes sense, but both me and the master electrician tried figuring it out for almost an hour today with no luck whatsoever.
