Second personality question!

I'm patching in Studio Due Archi Bar 150/C's (http://www.studiodue.com/images/brochures/led/page-archibar150-low.pdf) These appear to have 9 channels. The only personality I can find in Eos / Ion is for ArchiLED (Archi_LED_150/C_RGBA) but this is 10 channels. Is this the right personality to use? Just want to check it is and that a personality has been written for this fixture. Thank you!

  • Just had a quick look at the specs and the fixture library.

Essentially they are the same make up. However....

The personality in the library has an issue in it, that skips a number in it's DMX range, which knocks the channel count up by 1. Which is why you're seeing 10 addresses patching and not 9. The personality is actually only made up of 9 'channels'  plus the obvious HSB add-ons.

Also the Strobe and Intensity are round the wrong way for you. I'm guessing that this is just an oversight (which actually looks like they were starting to adapt it the way I describe below, but missed it).

No panic...it's a quick one to solve with the fixture editor!

If you're unsure of this process, I've given a rough step-by-step below. (If you do know how, copy your fixture, go to edit and look at the DMX column, note the numbering order! Make sure you swap intensity and strobe round in your numbering and make it count properly and you're away!)

    Step-by-Step.....

In Patch select the channel you require. Click the Type softkey in the CIA. Assuming you've already attempted to patch the ArchiLED it will appear in your favorites tiles. (If it's not find it in the Manufacturers pages and select it. Then page back to the favorites tab - If you have already tried to patch it move on a step!)

Now click edit (next to the Favorites/Manfct Tabs) and this will page you to your list of used fixtures. Select the ArchiLED 150.... and click copy. This will add a copy of this fixture and enable you to edit it.

    So click edit!

This populates the screen with the fixture map.

The quickest way to make this fixture work for you is to renumber the numbers in the DMX column, so that the order runs like this... 1..2..3..4..6...5..7..8..9 (note 5 and 6 inverted to sort out the Intensity Strobe order). The Current Order is 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10 - missing 5, hence the range of addresses is 10 when you currently patch!

    Then click Return.

Select your new fixture. Hit Label and give it a new name (Now you can call it ArchiBAR if you like!!)

    Click Return.

And patch your new fixture to your hearts content!

    Hope this helps
