ESP VIsion and Ion

We have Ions and Eos' here and run ESP to visulise. However, we're using Vista and XP but do have Win 7 around to upgrade but haven't got round to it yet.

Just before i teach you to suck eggs, are you using a DMX interface, sandnet or are you wanting ESP to decode the protocals itself?

We use Sandnet but it can be a little expensive...

We have sandnet vbox, but the sandnet drivers are not compatible with the Windows 7 - 64 bit architecture and renders the box useless. We know now that sACN is not ready for ESP use, but ArtNet should work. Since my last post we can get ArtNet to to read on the "Data Monitor"  which means it is getting to the machine but there is no effect in the ESP visualizer. 

We have an ENT_TEC box as well, which is read by the software program "PRO UTILITY" outside of ESP but is not recognized within ESP Vision. It acts as if it cannot find the box.

When you see data on the monitor, is it in the Universe you expect? Remember that Eos Universe 1=Art-Net Universe 0, 2=1, etcetera.

might be a little late, but I just came across this topic while searching the forum for a similar thing..

I had the same problem when connecting an Eos to Vision on a Windows 7 PC. Eventually, I talked to the ESP people and they said I should try with XP since they haven't yet had the time to make the changes in Vision to run properly in Windows 7. Works fine since I tried it on XP..so there isn't much really that you need to setup in the Eos/Ion to have it actually output the Artnet protocoll.
