macro activate submaster

I want to make a macro which activates a bumpbutton of a submaster (like before with the express) I've made the effect and put in on a subfader and works. I also made a macro which activates the bump button of the submaster and put the macro in a cue.

I don't know why the macro is not working when I press the go button. The macro information only gives "SubDown SubUp"

The idea is to start an effect in one cue and 10 cues later deactivate the effect.

  • Can I ask why you need to trigger the Sub from the Cue, rather than just firing the Effect directly from the Cue?

  • Graham, I'm all in favor of shows being as automated and easily reproducible each night as posible. I just want to get it on the record that a significant number of designers like to run some effects this way. Even if their fear of the cuelist (or old processor difficulty with a smooth fade-in...) is actually obsolete, it's what they ask for.

Secondly, if the effect has a completely unknown duration, it may be the best way to run the effect, forever.

Finally, many small companies that have the good luck to tech and premiere a piece at a regional PAC with an EOS may have to use local equipment elsewhere. If some of those other boards can't do what the EOS can, it may be easier for all concerned (stage manager, replacement or fill-in advance LD) to have the effect on a submaster.
