What I would like to do is set a group of moving heads to effect 901 or circle or a relative effect I have made, then tell chan.45 (one of the units in the group) to be smaller to avoid set or orchestra, or faster. Then record this in a cue.
I'm quite new to this desk (ION 1.8) and hope I don't need to make ch45 it's own effect.
Can I use descrete control for this?
I have seen rate change of effects per cue but nothing about attributes per chan.
I know the desinger I will be plotting for in two months will want this effect (on a new desk) so I'm trying to forsee the bad moments. It won't be just one extra effect, each head will need its own effect any time we do "movement".
At the moment, if you want channels in the effect to have different sizes, you need to use different effects. So you can copy effect 901 to a new effect number, apply that effect to the channel you want different and adjust the size for that effect in the effect status display.
Hope that helps.
Thanks, I thiught this might be the case.
I like the "at the moment" part of your reply, I'm going to have a lot of effects in my shows how it is!!
I was going to ask this similar question and found this post but it appears over 10 yrs old. Has the answer changed? I wanted to do something similar to this in my last event but still thought an effect cannot split out channel timing/sizing, etc. differently.
yes, this changed about three years ago. in Tab 8 you can have single channels that are using the same effect use different attrbutes. the only thing you can't do there is have a circle effect with different direction.
sweet. Thank you sir!
Glad to help, lol. Wow this was a long time ago, I'd hate to go back to 1.8 now!
