Recalling channels through intensity palettes

So I am trying to create intensity palettes (as direct selects) on my EOS.

For example:

Int. Palette 1 is my "Front Warms" - channels 1-15.  It is in a direct select .

Now how do I recall it?  If I try recalling through the direct select then <at> ...I immediately get an error.

This is probably really confusing but I just thought the direct selects would be a great way to recall groups of channels.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Intensity palettes are just that.  Intensity values stored for a selection of channels.  The Channel selection doesn't auto fills in when you push an intensity palette.  For instance let’s say you have channels 1 thru 10 at intensity palette 1 and 11 thru 15 at intensity palette 2.  If the channel selection auto populated how you would be able to create and apply multiple reference values with any range of channels?

So here is the answer to your question.  You need to select channels 1 thru 15 then apply intensity palette 1.  If you are going to always use the same channel range create a group with that channel range.  Now on your direct selects you could hit group 1 and intensity palette 1 and channels 1 thru 15 will go to the intensity value you have selected.

  • Thanks for the reply!!  I'll give it a go!

  • "1 thru 10 at intensity palette 1 and 11 thru 15 at intensity palette 2"

You can also use groups.  Record Group 1 as Ch's 1-10, then Group 2 as Ch's 11-15 (using the above example.

Use the Group Direct Select page to grab Group 1 - Ch's 1-10, then page to Intensity Pallettes and press IP 1 to get Ch's 1-10 to the intensity of IP 1.

Somewhat quicker then using the keypad.

  • - or just push [group] [intensity palette 1] [intensity palette 1]

which means: everything in intensity palette 1 at levels from intensity palette 1.

[group] [palette], [group] [preset] and [group] [cue] are very fast and useful commands when your direct select are on screen

  • The group function is a channel select function (it picks the channels that are stored to the specified target.   So, to get the entire stored data from a "bucket" you'll want to use the Recall From.  In 1.9, we are adding a feature that a double hit of a direct select will post to the command line "Recall From IP1" (for example).
