Hi All,
I've toured a show for a while that was written on and Express. I"ve recently imported it into an Ion, but have some questions about the effects. In the express file, I had 10 effects on submasters. Then cues that linked to macro's that sent a sub bump.
When importing the ascii file into the ion, the 10 effects on subs 1-10 appeared as step based effects 1-10 on the Ion. Great so far. Subs 1 - 10 on the Ion now showed the label from the old effects, but didn't actual trigger or contain the effect. The cue list showed all the old macro links to fire the subs, but unfortunately the Macro's didn't import. I am now in the process of going through the show file and removing all the macro triggers, and assigning the effects. My question. Is there a way to just call up a step based effect without having to tell it channels to affect? For an absolute effect, I know why you have to tell it which channels you want the effect to run on, but I would think that for a step based effect with specific channels defined in the effect, I could just type [Effect] [1] [Enter] and it would run. Am I missing something basic here, or is there a deeper concept that I don't see.
Thanks,
