Pan & Tilt problem

Question

We have a couple of new MHs (Nasty generic Chinese). They use the exact profile for my "Lixadas". But! 
 If I select, the pan and tilt encoders do not work. But: if I touch the XY plot in ML panel they will jump and then P&T encoders work. Any ideas?

All I have is CPX MH Mini Gobo Spot. It has the same profile as the the slightly more popular Lixada Mini GoBo Spot 11CH 
 I'm thinking this is more likely a problem witthin the fixutre firmware establishing the OSC start protocal. I forgot to mention we are using ELE2 with a USB connected Pan and Tilt box.
