So I've run a lot of different consoles in my life and have a lot of experience with ETC Smartfade (actually it is my favorite console). I was recently asked to run using an ETC Element 2, and in trying to learn how to operate it I had an issue that confused me for quite a while. It had to do with the concept of an ETC EOS/Element channel vs a DMX channel. I do not think the user manual explanation is very clear and the training video assumes you understand it. However I think
WP_Chan_vs_Address.pdf (etcconnect.com)
makes it VERY clear. A slightly expanded description in the manual about ETC channel vs DMX address would have helped me a lot.
