Why is the home position for Zoom / Edge always full?
Personally I think a center position (127 or 128 at 8bit) will more practical.
Yes, I know - use the Home Preset. What did other users guess?

Impressiv.
I could have sworn that both Parameters are Min.Values at Home.
But you are right.
Makes not realy sense.
But center Zoom feels not right.
Edge could be centered.
It will depend on the fixture profile when it was created. some are min and some will be max. If you want to have it at 50% then you can change the profile to reflect that or as you said a home preset. I use the profile version so I don't have to remember add new fixtures to the home preset if I add a fixture.

I think Zoom at the smallest angle will help for focusing. Most of the edge values gives different behaviors depending of the fixture manufacturers.
True. I am with you.
can i ask what fixture types you were seeing this with. i think i always saw zoom being minimal and a quick check confirmed that.
i patched the first 11 fixture types that came to my mind. Martin, High End, Robe, ClayPaky, JB. and they all do indeed have minimal zoom by default.
for me this always made sense since it easy to focus a fixture with minimal zoom.
and edge is "always wrong" anyway, don't see any better option there than to just always leave it at 0% as home value.
Uuuuuups, Ueli you're right. The DMX values are flipped in the Ranges setting, so the Patch>Fixture list is misleading.
Sorry for that stupid question.
