Response Mk2 Gateway with Element

We are looking to upgrade our old Net2 Node to a Response Mk2 Gateway, running off an Element console. We want to be able to pull 4 universes of DMX, but is this even possible with the Element that only has 2 physical DMX outputs? If this is possible, my next question is if the existing wiring used for the Net2 will work with the Response Mk2.

  • the output limit of an element is not 2 universes (like the 2 ports suggest) but actually 1024 addresses. if you use each address of the two universes then yes, an element can only handle 2 universes, no matter how many ports you add. but if you only have one full universe and three univeres with 150 addresses each, you're still under 1024.

both the Net2 node and the Mk2 gateway use Ethernet cabling so that should work.
