Color Picker

Hi, I had a question about the colorpicker.  I I have been using the EOS in conjunction with Wybron CXI IT scrollers and Seachanger Color Engines with the extra green filter.  I have been unable to get accurate color mixing with the color picker.   The problem is far more serious with the CXIs than the Seachangers (which are generally very close). has anyone been having similar problems or can anyone give me a place to start trying to solve the problem.

PS- when calling up gel colors my seachangers only use CMY mixing, not CMY +G mixing.  Any leads on that?

  • I've always had the same problem with CXI's.  Now I just build CXI color palettes during my pre-punching session.  It helps when there are other fixtures in the rig which you trust to mix accurate color.  You can use them as a reference while dialing in the values that Wybron publishes in its color tables.

I don't fully understand the reasons, but I'm told there is a major impediment at the software stage to making CXI's work in this way.  Honestly I'd rather get a "you can't use color picker with that fixture" error message than plunge my whole stage into an awful color.
